Hope you had a terrific weekend. This week, we're getting into the data and examining the middle child of venture funding to see what's getting the most traction in early 2022.

2022 vs. 2021
So far this year, there have been 182 Series B raises, compared to 113 in the same period last year, or a 61% increase. Of the largest fundings of this period in 2022 vs. 2021, this year's round Bs are so far on average at least $20MM larger than last year's. Here are the top funding rounds since Jan 1, 2022.

Biotech and pharmaceuticals are capturing a lot of that increased spending at the B level. We're also seeing an increase in activity for logistics and industrial products/processes. One D2C brand made the list, with Kim Kardashian's Skims start-up picking up a sizable round B, no doubt on the heels of another celebrity-backed intimates brand, Savage X Fenty. The successful brand led by Rihanna is rumored to be going public at a $3BN valuation.
