There’s a reason I love my Reebok hiking shoes more than any other shoe in my closet, and it has nothing to do with the great outdoors. I love them for the endorphin- and oxytocin-boosting effect of a great deal. You see, I got the shotes at nearly 80% off, or roughly the price of three flavored lattes. Science backs up my feeling. When we get a discount, our oxytocin jumps and our body relaxes. It’s no surprise then that some investors are licking their lips at potentially great deals on the sunken stock market as well as startups who will have a harder time raising capital.
