The cherry on top of any funding round for a founder is the access to networks, advice, and talent pools connected to the VC. Hiring can be one of the most challenging tasks for any founder, as the impacts of early hires are lasting and the cost to replace them daunting. But accessing a tried and tested network of talent from VCs can have its downsides, including a lack of diversity in the candidate pool.

Meanwhile, with the great resignation fully underfoot, many workers are looking for better paying, more flexible, and more remote jobs. Many are turning to the tech industry to find these so-called dream jobs. Recent coverage has shown a migration from traditional industries (like publishing and fashion) to the jeans and t-shirt corporate world of tech companies.

While LinkedIn may be the central hub for jobs, many VCs offer introductions to their portfolio companies. Sequoia Capital has a jobs board featuring nearly 10k jobs plucked from their portfolio companies, like Klarna and Confluent. Users can search for jobs by stage of company, skills, or industry. Lerer Hippeau has over 4k jobs searchable by function, location, or company. They include logistics software makers Foxtrot and pet care startup Ollie. The Female Founders Fund is helping 46 companies hire for 459 jobs at companies like Billie and Co-Star. AngelList, the platform for angel investors seeking their next investment, has a jobs board with over 17k jobs currently listed.

There are also job board platform startups bringing in VC investments, and those platform companies are looking for workers. Creatively is the LinkedIn for creatives and has seen rapid user growth in the last few years. Lever & Greenhouse are both popular startup job boards that have been around for a while. Pallet is a platform for existing communities to create their own hiring tools. Gloat is the Tel Aviv-based internal hiring platform that raised $57MM in June.

With so many options available for posting or finding a job, the hiring landscape can be overwhelming. What platform or methods are you using to hire or find a job? Let us know.
