  • Performance tech is expanding its customer base from professional to prosumer. HYPERICE has broken into the professional sports leagues inking multiple partnerships as well as funding from leagues and athletes this month worth $48MM. Meanwhile video technology company Hudl also raised new funding in May in the growing sports analysis field used by professional to high school sports teams to analyze performance. Weekly Funding Stats 
This week the software & internet services continue as the strongest industry to attract investors although biotechnology also gathered a lot of attention with almost $200MM of total funding in the U.S. Notably, gaming company Scopely racked up the most funding at $340MM.

Not only has Barbie sales been strong, Mattel's controversial $75 Day of the Dead doll sold out again for a second year.

$100MM+ funding
Honor, a San Francisco-based home care company, raises $140MM in Series D round. The company helps manage back-office functions for home care companies in exchange for a portion of their revenue. Read our insight on senior-focused companies.

Faire, a San Francisco-based marketplace that connects wholesalers to retailers, received a $170MM Series E funding round.

Indian startup FreshToHome is strengthing the fresh fish and meat delivery market in India and Saudi Arabia with $121MM Series C funding.

Healthcare deals
Exact Sciences acquires Boston's Thrive Earlier Detection, which focuses on healthcare products in a $2.15BN deal

Human API, a company that offers a real-time health data network, raised $20MM in Series C from Allianz Life Ventures and 6 other investors

Women-led
strongDM, a company that provides a solution to manage and audit access to servers and databases has raised $17MM in Series A from Sequoia Capital.

Others
Atwater Capital has acquired a minority stake in Freepik, a Spanish provider of stock photos and visuals.

DriveWealth, a global digital trading tech company raised $56.7MM in Series C funding.

Eagle Eye Networks racks in $40MM Series E for its cloud video surveillance technology platform with funding from Accel. 

Skan, an AI-enabled process discovery, and operational intelligence company, secure a $14MM Series A funding round to strengthen its product platform and scale operations.
