Founded by Steven Hirsch and David James, private company Vivid Entertainment LLC is one of the largest producers of adult videos, DVDs, and online adult entertainment in the world. Vivid Entertainment LLC is based in West Los Angeles. Vivid Entertainment LLC gained notoriety through its exclusive contract with adult film celebrity Jenna Jameson, as well as its release of the private sex tape of actress Pamela Anderson and musician Tommy Lee. Vivid Entertainment LLC is co-owned by founders Steven Hirsch and David James, as well as by William Asher, who became a co-owner when Vivid Entertainment acquired his adult film company (see PrivCo M&A Table for details on the acquisition). Asher's company was later sold along with Vivid Entertainment LLC's cable TV adult video-on-demand businesses to Playboy Enterprises.

In addition to its films Vivid has a licensing program that extends to sex toys, condoms, skateboards, snowboards and apparel. The company specializes in high-production-value movies, shot in exotic locations with professional lighting and quality cinematography. Revenues:
