Tapjoy is a mobile advertising and publishing platform that gives users customized app recommendations based on their current apps, their friends' recommendations and other factors. Tapjoy users earn virtual currency to purchase more apps by engaging in personalized advertisements, subscribing to services or purchasing more apps.
App developers can use Tapjoy to increase their number of users, while mobile advertisers can use the app to reach audiences in 20,000 applications. As of March 2012, Tapjoy has over 4 million users
Revenues
Tapjoy's revenues come from app developers, who have pay-per-install agreements with Tapjoy. The remainder of Tapjoy's revenues arise from mobile advertisers, including Victoria's Secret, Electronic Arts and Amazon.
Costs
Tapjoy's costs include wages for its developers as well as other programming, research and development costs.
