Sleepy’s LLC operates a chain of mattress stores along the east coast of the US with over 800 stores in 13 states. Sleepy’s retail stores carry Sealy, Serta, Simmons, Beautyrest, My Side, Tempur-Pedic, and a dozen other brands of mattresses. Sleepy’s also operates a nationwide online store for mattresses through Mattress.com and Sleepys.com. Additionally, 1-800 Mattress sells mattresses through the phone.
Sleepy’s competes with both large and small mattress retailers. Its biggest competitor is the Mattress Firm, which owns over 1,000 stores in 27 states. Sleepy’s focuses on marketing its brand and expanding the number of Sleepy’s locations to reach new markets with a primary focus on the greater New York City area. Sleepy’s looks to acquire store locations with optimal foot traffic in residential regions.
