Seed Investment Involving SCVNGR (June 2008)

Founded in 2008 by then 19 year old Princeton University dropout Seth Priebatsch, privately held SCVNGR is an online and mobile application developer that creates games tied to promotional marketing offers for corporate clients. SCVNGR and Priebatsch have described SCVNGR's mission as "building the game layer on top of the world." In March 2011, the company launched LevelUp, a mobile payments application. LevelUp partners with businesses in order to attract and retain customers by letting users access local deals and pay with mobile devices. The Cambridge, Massachusetts based company is backed by venture capital firms including Highland Partners and Google's corporate venture capital arm Google Ventures (see PrivCo Funding Table for SCVNGR's venture funding details).
