Recon Instruments

Recon Instruments is a privately-held company that develops the technology used for micro optics display. Recon Instruments is headquartered in Vancouver BC, BC. Recon Instruments revenue are derived from sales of its mobile devices, most prominently sales of its GPS device that is inserted into specially made goggles worn by skiers and snowboarders. For about $500, the goggles display information to the user on his or her speed into a small box inside the user's field of vision. A higher level product - retailing for about $600 - can also play music and display text messages and caller ID into the goggles when attached to a mobile phone. Recon has sold tens of thousands of these devices since they were launched in 2010. Recon Instuments also is developing similar products for use in helmets worn by sportsman including motorcyclists.
