Kabam Revenue and Business Model
Kabam generates revenue through payments for virutal goods within its suite of video games. In addition, the video game producer also makes money by selling ad space within its video games. The company, which produces relatively few, but highly popular strategy games, has been rumored to monetize its user base much more than its competitors like Zynga. However, like its competitors, Kabam must pay Facebook some 30% of virtual goods payments that occur within Facebook's network. Kabam also delivers its games through the less popular but less expensive Google+ social network. A distribution partnership forged with Kongregate in February 2012 will allow Kabam to reach a wider userbase and avoid paying Facebook's heavy fees.
