AliphCom, doing business as Jawbone, is a privately-held consumer electronics company that specializes in mobile lifestyle products and services. In addition to Aliph's flagship product, the Jawbone Bluetooth headset that launched in December 2006, Aliph is also the creator of an intelligent wireless speaker and speakerphone called JAMBOX. Aliph's Noise Shield technology, which eliminates background noise and delivers call clarity, was originally developed with DARPA (The Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency) for battlefield applications. Aliph is venture capital-backed, having received financing from firms such as Andreessen Horowitz, Sequoia Capital, and Khosla Ventures. Aliph was founded in 1999 by Hosain Rahman and Alexander Asseily, and has headquarters in San Francisco, California. |
