Giorgio Armani S.p.A. was founded by Giorgio Armani and Sergio Galeotti in Milan with an initial capital infusion of $10,000. After the death of Sergio Galotti, Giorgio Armani was left with 100% ownership of the company. Since then Giorgio Armani has been operating company independently with no public debts or bank loans and has invested instead in extending control over manufacturing and distribution of its products. Primarily the branding activity of the company is based on the unique personality and identity of its owner Giorgio Armani himself. Giorgio Armani’s iconic popularity amongst the elite of society and the fashion literate segment of the market has contributed to its brand.
