Gilbane Inc. is a privately-held, family-owned building and construction management company. As one of the nation's oldest and largest builders, the company's landmark giant projects include the Smithsonian National Air and Space Museum, the Vietnam Veterans Memorial and the Winter Olympics Facilities in Lake Placid. Gilbane Inc. is comprised of two operating companies: Gilbane Building Company and Gilbane Development Company. These two often work jointly as one company to provide integrated expertise in finance, development, planning and construction. Gilbane Inc. headquarters are located in Providence, Rhode Island. Gilbane Inc. was founded in 1873 by Irish immigrant brothers William and Thomas Gilbane.

Gilbane Building Co. is the construction arm of Gilbane Inc., providing construction management, contracting, design and facilities-related services. Gilbane Building's six main divisions are Pre-Construction, Construction, Consulting, Subcontracting, High Performance Building and Facilities Management Services.
Gilbane Building's pre-construction services include:
Transition planning and management integrates planning for the activation of the client's new facility with the planning for the transition of the client's existing operations into that new facility. This eliminates operational down time and reduces risk of lost revenues.
