Eileen Fisher, Inc. is a privately-held designer and retailer of women's clothes that change little from year to year, primarily targeting women age 35 to 55. The Irvington, New York-based company was founded in 1984 with $350 and designs for four basic women's apparel pieces and has since grown to boast over $315 million in annual sales (please see PrivCo's Charts, Financials, and Statistics tables on Eileen Fisher for the most recent financial figures). Selling its products through major retailers and company-owned stores across the country, Eileen Fisher is known for its simple, comfortable clothes that are immune to changing trends, thus enabling their lines to function across multiple seasons and years. Still majority-owned by namesake founder and designer Eileen Fisher, the remaining 31% is owned by company employees through an Employee Stock Option Plan (ESOP) program that was created in 2006, during which the Company purchased the stock with financing from Bank Leumi USA.
