Privately-held Digg, Inc. is a community news website built around popularity ranking of user-suggested internet content. Since its founding in late 2004 by Kevin Rose, Digg has grown into one of the most popular sources of information on the web. Digg has been made into a social news website made for people to discover and share contents from anywhere on the internet either by submitting links and stories or voting and commenting on the submitted links and stories. Voting stories is the major process which is done up and down in the site"s cornerstone function, respectively called "digging".
Digg as a social content website is divided into two major sections: "Popular" and "Upcoming" stories. Content is submitted by users is first directed to the "Upcoming" stories section where it is published for other users to read and to vote on (or "Digg") what they like best.
