CourseHorse is a privately held company that enables its users to search for personal interest courses offered in their city through an online portal. CourseHorse launched in 2011 and was founded by NYU alumns Katie Kapler and Nihal Parthasarathi, based in downtown NYC. CourseHorse partners with providers of Spanish courses, cooking classes, yoga lessons and thousands of other classes to create a single destination for New Yorkers seeking personal interest education. Potential students are able to browse, filter classes by schedule, curriculum, price and location, and enroll in classes directly on CourseHorse.com. In April 2011, CourseHorse received the Ira Rennert Entrepreneurial Prize of $75,000 at NYU Stern's 12th Annual New Venture Competition.
