BuyWithMe, Inc.

BuyWithMe is a privately-held, venture capital backed social media company that specializes in group-buying and e-commerce services in over 15 cities across the United States. The company allows merchants to offer deals for extended periods of time as well as provides detailed analytics on customer retention rates and ROI. BuyWithMe is backed by Matrix Partners and Bain Capital Ventures (for more details please see PrivCo's funding table) and has a target audience of consumers in the late twienties to mid thirties. Founded in 2009 by Andrew Moss and James Crowley, BuyWithMe is headquartered in New York, New York. BuyWithMe has been on an acquisition spree throughout 2011, acquiring companies including ScoopSt. in August 2011 from founders David Ambrose and Justin Tsan and their investors) that as of that date brought BuyWithMe's presence into 13 cities, all in the U.S. In October 2011, BuyWithMe laid off nearly half of its staff after failing to secure new financing. In November 2011, BuyWithMe was acquired by a competitor and its name gradually phased out (see PrivCo M&A Table: BuyWithMe for deal details).
