The privately-held Brookshire Grocery Co. stretches back to when Wood T. Brookshire became the sole proprietor of three stores in Tyler, Texas. Headquartered in Tyler, Texas, Brookshire Grocery operates three distribution facilities - two in Tyler and one in Monroe, La. Through its subsidiaries and manufacturers Brookshire Grocery produces bakery, dairy, ice cream, yogurt, fresh-cut, ice and water/drink plants all internally. Since its founding in 1939 due to a split from the original Brookshire Brothers chain, Brookshire Grocery serves the areas of Texas, Arkansas, Louisiana, and Mississippi with their own private label manufacturing.
