Rafter, Inc., formerly named BookRenter.com, Inc. provides a cloud based course material management service to higher education institutions throughout the United States. The service allows university administrators to manage both digital and physical educational materials. Rafter also allows students to easily find the best deals on textbooks through its large database of textbook prices and availability.
The Rafter business model focuses on building an effective course material management platform that requires no actual inventory on Rafter’s part. The service allows college bookstores and textbook suppliers to list their inventories and prices online through Rafter. Students and educators can then choose the best prices and deals using Rafter’s comparison tools. By building large listing of textbooks, Rafter is able to reduce overall costs for both students and administrators.
