When Carlyle acquired the company in 2007, approximately 65% of ARINC's revenue came from the United States military. In 2012, revenues from the private sector comprised 50% of ARINC's top line; CEO John Belcher said it would like this proportion to grow to 70% as defense spending faces further budget cuts. In addition to the United States, ARINC does business with interinational defense bureaus; in 2011, the firm completed projects for the Iraqi Air Force.
Products
ARINC's product portfolio reflects its growing private sector focus. By 2006, The firm provided communication services to 70% of global airlines and 95%. This includes products like AviNet, an air-to-ground messaging service. In addition, ARINC sells flight information displays to hotels and offers a host of remote check-in solutions, including some by mobile application.
