BUSINESS OVERVIEW

Agios Pharmaceuticals, Inc. is a drug developer with a focus on cancer metabolism and rare metabolic genetic diseases. Agios has an active research and discovery pipeline with several treatments nearing the clinical trial phase. Agios is currently being backed by several VC firms as well as Celgene Corporation, a publicly-held pharmaceutical company based in New Jersey.

Agios spent the first several months of its existence employing scientific rigor translating a broad idea of cancer metabolism into intellectual property. Agios has already applied for dozens of patents (see exhibits attached to this report). Once the science was secure, the firm turned to searching for partners with deep pockets and a common goal.
