Detailed Business Description: AccuVein Inc.
Deal with Amerinet
On June 8th, 2009, AccuVein announced a 3 year deal agreement with Amerinet. According to the agreement, Amerinet will be offering its members the AccuVein AV300, a non-contact vein illumination device. Amerinet is a healthcare group purchasing organization that aims to offer its members low costing medical products. There are over 30,000 members in Amerintet which include acute care hospitals, clinics, long term care facilities, physicians, emergency services and ambulatory surgery centers.
Lawsuit with Luminetx
In August 2009, AccuVein Inc. settled a lawsuit with Luminetx Corp, in which Luminetx argued that AccuVein stole their idea for a non-contact medical imaging device that allows healthcare professionals to map out the veins of a patient from their product, VeinViewer. The result of the lawsuit was for AccuVein to license the VeinViewer patents from Luminetx Corp for $2 million.
