Founded by Brent Gendleman and Rob Daly, 5AM Solutions, Inc., is a private company that makes biomedical research more efficient and effective. 5AM Solutions is a life science consulting and software engineering firm and is based in Reston, Virgina. 5AM solutions works with life sciences and healthcare clients to create customized software enabling biotech researchers to analyze large amounts of data. In late 2010, 5AM Solutions expanded to the West Coast of the U.S. with the opening of its Bay Area California office. The company's name (5AM Solutions) has no particular meaning, according to reports, but Brent Gendleman and Rob Daly wanted a name that sounded distinctive, which indeed it is. (The allusion to a "new dawn" at 5am is also a secondary meaning of 5AM Solutions.) In January 2011 5AM Solutions, Inc. also released SNPTips, a Firefox browser plug-in that connects the user's 23andMe personal genetic information to online information with a one click.
