Quicken Loans, Inc. is a privately-held financial services company that specializes in mortgage lending.The company was taken public in May 1998 and was acquired by Intuit Inc. in December 1999 before being sold back to founder Dan Gilbert and undisclosed investors in August 2002 (See PrivCo IPO and M&A charts for more details). Since then, Quicken Loans has grown to become one of the largest online mortgage lenders in the US closing $30 billion in home loans in 2011.
