Fireman’s Fund Insurance Co. is a privately-held insurance agency that specializes in health, auto, and life insurance. Founded in 1863 in San Francisco, California, Fireman’s Fund moved its headquarters to Novato, California in the early 1980s and has remained there since. Through a series of M&A deals, Fireman’s Fund became a subsidiary of publically-traded Allianz SE (FRA:DE:ALV) in 1991 and naw represents the German company’s presence in North America along with its sister companies Allianz Life Insurance Company of North America and Pacific Investment Management Company. Fireman’s Fund insured the first movies with sound and remains one of the largest insurers of Hollywood films including Top Gun and the Lord of the Rings series.
