CDH Investments is an alternative asset manager, including hedge funds, private equity and venture capital, based in China and focused primarily on China-related private company investments. Its venture capital arm, CDH Ventures, has a portfolio that as of 2011 included companies such as the publicly traded solar manufacturer LDK Solar Co.; publicly traded security company Qihoo Technology Co.; the Chinese car rental company eHi Car Rental Co.,, China Data Group, and Chinese languages media company Blue Ocean Network. In 2011 CDH Investments was involved in a rare public scandal (for the Chinese business community) when the founder of its CDH Ventures venture capital arm announced he was abruptly leaving the firm and wife to run off with his mistress, placing a sudden void in the leadership of the CDH Ventures unit of CDH Investments LLC..
